I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan. Welcome to the land of fame and legal dispensaries!

It was my first trip to CA since cannabis became legal for recreational use and I was so excited for my first trip to a dispensary. I had heard about Weedmaps from an event I attend in MA but had yet to use it….until now.

Having no idea how to find a recreational dispensary that I could visit using an ID only I downloaded Weedmaps and began my search!

What is Weedmaps?

According to their website;

“Weedmaps.com is a community where medical marijuana users connect with other users in their geographic region to freely discuss and review local cannabis co-operatives, storefronts, medical doctors and delivery services!”

Think of it as the Yelp.com for weed. This is a user-friendly platform that allows you to find a storefront, doctor, particular brand or product. Creating an account is free and easy for both users and stores. Once you are all set up this app allows you to follow your favorite stores to stay updated and save products for future reference. You can also read and write reviews on projects and dispensaries.

What can you use Weedmaps for?

Not only can you use this app to locate whatever you might be looking for but you can also use this app to look for “Deals” in your area. What I’ve learned is that a lot of dispensaries have daily deals and specials IE “Munchie Monday 20% off”, “Happy Hour 420 sale” etc. All of these specials are listed in the DEALs section of the app. You can also use this section of the app to search for deals on specific categories such as edibles, concentrates, indica etc.

Best Weedmaps Features

One feature that Weedmaps has that I was super impressed is there “Learn” section. In this section, Weedmaps covers various topics such as “Cannabis & your Body”, “The Plant” and “Laws & Regulations”. Here a user can read up on the happens of the cannabis world and gain a better understanding of not only how cannabis works with your body but also common cannabis language and laws.

Knowledge is power and I always recommend people new to the industry or new patients read as much as they can to learn what works best for them.

I would rate this as a must-have app for stoners everywhere! Both medical patients and adults looking to use cannabis will find this app helpful and informative. I can’t wait to see what they have in the works and can’t wait to use it in at home in Massachusetts.
