Calling all seafood-loving stoners, this ad campaign is speaking straight to you.
Legal Sea Foods is the latest brand to join the cannabis conversation, releasing print ads, TV spots, and interactive activations as a part of their “Welcome to Legal” campaign in Boston this week.
According to the marketing team at Legal Sea Foods, the effort will also include free clam chowder from its popular Chowda’ Van outside Boston cannabis dispensaries, along with special menu items and a social media campaign where people can win a bowl of chowder throughout the day.
“It’s a celebration of a cultural milestone, and a welcoming message to all who partake.” – Kelly Durcan, Legal Sea Foods
The ads are light on copy, heavy on puns, and have some serious 1970s psychedelic Grateful Dead tour poster vibes.
Check out a few of the print ads you’ll be seeing around the Boston area soon:
This branding is WAY out there for an iconic, family-friendly restaurant whose roots go back to 1904 like Legals. What do you think of the campaign creative? Would you be likely to spend more money with a brand that joined in on the cannabis conversation in a positive way?
