Cool Off & Recover with this Essential CBD Smoothie Recipe

Starting your day with a cup of cannabis might seem like a crazy idea, but for those that have discovered the incredible powers of CBD, it makes so much sense. We’re huge fans of a cool, refreshing smoothie to start our day, and with a couple drops of CBD added in, our morning wellness routine has been taken to a new level.

Before we jump right into the recipe for this supercharged smoothie, first let’s talk about CBD. If you’re curious about CBD 101, check out our article here that breaks down what is CBD and it’s many benefits.

Cannabidiol, which goes by the acronym CBD, is a cannabis compound that has major benefits, but doesn’t make you feel “stoned.”

The most important thing to know about CBD is that it’s a compound that occurs naturally in cannabis and hemp, and can be extracted in its pure form for consumers to enjoy its benefits without feeling high at all. CBD is still being studied and there’s a lot we don’t know about it yet, but some widely accepted benefits include:

  • Helping with depression and anxiety
  • Reducing seizures in patients with epilepsy
  • Helping cure chronic pain, combatting inflammation
  • Reducing pain from menstrual cramps
  • Relieving nausea and increasing appetite
  • Alleviating hangover symptoms

CBD is also being tested for a variety of other medical uses to combat cigarette / alcohol addiction, acne, PTSD, insomnia and more.*

Ready for the recipe? Here’s how we make our delicious berry smoothie every morning, supercharged with a couple drops of Hempworx 500 pure CBD oil (or whatever your favorite brand may be!).

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup almond milk (or your favorite non-dairy beverage)
Handful of kale or spinach
1/4 frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup frozen pineapple
2-3 frozen strawberries
1-2 drops CBD oil

DIRECTIONS:

First, blend your greens (we love using kale, with stems on!) with your almond milk. Blend until well processed so you don’t have any chunks of green floating around at the end.

Then, add in your frozen fruits and drops of unflavored CBD. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
