Weed Chat With: The Babes Behind the Baked and Beautiful Podcast

At HeyHelloHigh we LOVE the Baked and Beautiful podcast. Tell us, what was the inspiration behind starting it?

Initially, Baked & Beautiful was created for us to have an outlet to be the stoners we wanted to be. We were both too scared to tell people we smoke weed, once we met each other and began growing our friendship we both realized we’re “Successful Stoners” and should be proud of that! The more Baked & Beautiful grew the more it became about empowering other women that it’s ok to share that you get baked, and work and pay your bills and have a life, etc….killing the stoner stereo type with our beauty twist to it.

What’s the most fun thing about doing a podcast? What’s the hardest part?

The most fun thing about doing the podcast is obviously recording! We get to smoke, hang out, discuss our favorite beauty products and share crazy stories. It’s like we”re just hanging out. The least fun is how long it takes to edit. We’re still so new at this, that we are pretty much learning as we go. Every time we edit, the process becomes a bit easier and takes a little less time.

What’s your all-time favorite cannabis infused beauty product?

Currently loving the Malin + Goetz line. The hair pomade is infused with cannabis sativa seed oil and it does wonders to tame frizz on these humid days. Have to shout out their bomb cannabis hand + body wash, it just makes you feel so clean and it smells amazing! Also obsessed with Hempz Beauty lip balm, it’s super moisturizing and really balances out the excessive amounts of matte lipsticks we wear.

What’s a cannabis beauty product you haven’t tried yet, but can’t wait to try?

Can not wait to get our hands on some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar – they have so many amazing shades we want to try and they’re based in NYC! They’re available online as well.

What’s a cannabis beauty product you’re scared/nervous to try?

Wow, that’s a tough one! We’re pretty open to trying new products. Maybe a cannabis hard wax? Although, now that we’re thinking about it, that sounds like a really good product idea!

Where in your city is your favorite smoke sesh spot?

There are lots of secret spots to smoke in Central Park which is always fun. Also loved smoking on the rooftop of where we used to work… nothing like smoking a bowl on a summer night with a rooftop view of the city!

What beauty products do you recommend to use before a serious smoke sesh, if any?

For daytime or a night out, we have a list of “Smoke & Stay” products we loved, approved by us!  Skone Cosmetics tattooed liquid eyeliner is a good one and most NYX liquid matte lipsticks are great when smoking blunts or joints.

For a night in, we say pamper yourself! Do a sugar lip scrub, we like Hanalei’s sugar lip scrub followed with that Hempz Beauty lip balm. Also, do a mask! We love Boscia black charcoal peel off mask or try a sheet mask. We are constantly trying new sheet masks, there are like 1000 out there! Lucky for us, Ipsy knows how much we love them and we basically get two from them a month. Smoking with any glass piece would be preferred in this situation.

Say you’re about to go out after you smoke. Any quick beauty tips to help make you look less high?

If you aren’t wearing foundation, Witch Hazel Cleansing Pads are great for a quick cleanse and it brightens up your face a bit. Using a white or brighter eye liner, you can even use a highlighter with an angled brush for this, but just lightly line your water line and you’re good to go.

What do you think are the biggest challenges facing lady stoners today?

One of the biggest struggles we face is trying to get others to understand our lifestyle with pot – it’s not just about getting high, it’s more about being the best version of yourself (physical and mental health, spiritually, etc.) and marijuana definitely helps in that department.

What’s your favorite new song to listen to while you smoke?

“Friend Like You” by HappyTokes featuring STACE – it’s so catchy and happy, it definitely stays in your head all day!

Any other fun facts about you guys, or pro tips to share?

We’re both book-loving nerds that are obsessed with our dogs, NYC, marijuana, coffee, and lipstick!

Pro tips –  clean your makeup brushes often, it will expand the life of your brushes and keep your skin clear. Also, be mindful of the expiration of your beauty products. If you have anything that’s older than a year, its time to toss it!
