Happy 7/10!
Today is a special day for a couple of reasons. First off, it’s our very first day at heyhellohigh.com. We’re live, people!
And, we just found out that it’s a national marijuana holiday. Kind of feels like the stars aligned on that one. Needless to say, we’ll be celebrating.
Anyways, what exactly is 710, and why is it a thing? Great question.
Like most traditions in the weed world, it’s hard to say when it started, who started it, and where it first caught on. I’m sure in cities and towns across the country today, there’s a girl swearing that her friend’s cousin’s junior year roommate was the one who started it all. The urban legends grow and grow, which is what makes stoner stories so awesome.
What we do know, though, is that 710 is the yearly holiday, observed on July 10th, that honors all oil and concentrate forms of cannabis. If you turn the number 710 upside down and backwards, it spells OIL. How awesome is that?
High THC marijuana concentrates come in many forms and go by many names, including the holiday’s namesake – oils. You’ll also hear about waxes, budder, shatter, and crumble. The most common ways to smoke concentrate is to dab or vape.
With concentrates becoming more mainstream in the past couple years, it’s our guess that 710 is going to gain major popularity, and maybe even rival 420.
Have fun celebrating with your concentrate, & don’t forget to mark your calendar for “Dab Day” next year!
