Are the holidays stressing you out? Between crowds at the mall, insane traffic, and watching your paycheck vanish the second you open Amazon, it’s a rough time of year. And, while you could tap into your New Year’s Eve wine stash early, there’s a better way to relax.
When the holiday madness gets to be a little too much, take the edge off with cannabis. Try a blunt instead of a beer, and Christmas dinner with your quirky cousin Randy might not seem so bad.
How do you plan out and schedule your day? Everyone has some kind of system, whether it’s a ‘to-do’ list, a wall calendar, or an app. You’re scheduling your day anyway, so why not pencil in 10 to 30 minutes of self-care time.
Here are a few quick, cannabis queen-approved activities you can sneak into your calendar this year.
Smoke Some Pot, Move Your Body
A little movement does the body good. Bundle up, smoke some pot, and take a walk in the woods. It may be chilly, but the fresh winter air is invigorating. Another great activity is cannabis yoga! Pair your favorite strain with a few sun salutations on your porch or at the park.
Some people swear by the gym as a super effective stress-reliever. If that’s your thing, try eating an edible or smoking beforehand. Studies even show that cannabis can offer benefits when working out. And, don’t forget, when your body feels good, your mind usually follows.
Eat An Edible And Get Lost In Something Creative
Sometimes, a yummy edible is all you need to kick stress to the curb. If you have access to a dispensary, you’ll find a whole assortment of edible goodies. If not, you may want to whip up a batch of your own. However you get your hands on a ganja goody, make sure to eat it before doing something creative.
Get lost in painting, writing poetry, drawing, or choreographing a dance. Since I’m not much of an artist, I prefer an adult coloring book to express my creativity. Even microdosing 5mg of THC can offer you some serious relaxation, focus, and the ability to let those creative juices flow.
Host A Cannabis-Friendly Get-Together With Your Closest Friends
Spending time with your closest friends can seriously mellow you out. Add a little cannabis to those get-togethers and you’re in for some massive stress-release. Vent out your holiday frustrations, discuss the deeper things in life, or just watch your favorite movie.
Grab some snacks, maybe a couple edibles, and your favorite smoking method. And, if you aren’t able to get THC edibles, try some CBD candy or chocolate (we love the CBD chocolate from CBD Living.) It won’t get you high, but it will help take the edge off so you can relax.
Three is not a crowd, so invite as many of your cannabis-friendly pals over as possible. Want to make gift wrapping and holiday cooking way less stressful? Ask your friends to come over and do it with you (while smoking of course.)
Turn Your Bathroom Into A Spa Using CBD Oil Products
Turn your very own bathroom into a day spa, using CBD. You’ve probably dropped a ton of cash on holiday gifts, so a pricey spa visit might be out of the budget. With a few CBD products, you can get all of the relaxation with the added benefits of pain relief, lower stress, and decreased inflammation. If you have a bathtub, try adding a CBD bomb to it for a super relaxing soak. We like the lavender bath bombs from Purple Leaf Bath Bombs, but there are plenty of options out there.
Light a candle to set the mood, and bring your favorite book along too. Throw on some meditation music, throw on a CBD face mask (we love this one by Ildi Pekar) and literally soak it all in. This is your time to relax to the max.
Give Yourself One, Guilt-Free Day Of Indulgence
Give yourself a day, just one day, where you do whatever you want, without feeling guilty. If you want to spend an entire day in bed, hitting the vape pen and eating cake, do it! And don’t sweat it.
The stress of the holidays is amplified by long lines, waiting in traffic, and being needed by your family, friends, kids, and partner. So, a day worrying about only YOUR needs is totally necessary.
Grab your bong, prepare some delicious edibles, and spend the day doing exactly what feels right. Whatever that right thing is, do it high, it’s better that way.

Self-care and cannabis go hand-in-hand. You don’t need to trade relaxation for a hangover, or remain in a stressed-out state until after New Years. It’s just not worth it. So, grab your weed and feed your soul; that’s the best gift you can give yourself this year.
